9th March, 2019 Guber Elections, Kerosene for Votes in Abia State.

In apparent bid to buy voters for Saturday’s governorship election, Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu is reportedly providing “free” kerosene to residents(allegedly).
The governor has also ordered state employees to attend a meeting by 12 noon today and come along with their permanent voter cards (PVC), reports say.
Abia State civil servants were reportedly sent the following message:
“Plse be informed that the Gov in Company of the HOS will be visiting All Civil Servants in Abia at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Secretariat on Wednesday 6th March,2019 by 12:00 Noon, come with your PVC.Inform any staff you can remember and have the contact (sic).”
It is believed the governor will, at the reported meeting, intimidate or induce (with money) voters into choosing him come March 9.
An Ikpeazu-branded tanker was, also on Wednesday, spotted distributing kerosene to potential voters in Umunkpeyi.
Some residents who received the domestic fuel said it was not free as Ikpeazu would be expecting them to repay in votes come Saturday.
“But I am happy to receive this kerosene and still vote my conscience on March 9,” said, a resident and mother of two.
“All we want is a governor who can give us an economy in which no one would have to share kerosene during election period, and Governor Ikpeazu does not seem to be that governor.
“We need change,” she said.
